SBI  - CHEATING CONSUMERS

The services of SBI  have deteriorated considerably. Recently we have received following complaints which are still pending for disposal by the banking authorities.

  1. CREDIT CARDS,

  2. ATM DEPOSITS,

WE HAVE ALREADY WRITTEN TO THE BANK AND NO CONCRETE REPLY.
THE CHAIRMAN IS SILENT ON THE MATTER.
SO PLEASE BEWARE WHILE BANKING WITH THIS BANK.

Case No. 1

On 1st of April the ATMs of the bank went fut. They started mis-behaving like the GOONS of the city. 
The money was debited to the account holder who planned to withdraw cash from ATM. The printed 
statement came, but the money never came. On contacting the branch people they showed their inability
to do anything. On heavy persuasion at the head office the entry was reversed after 14 days. No 
interest was paid. The bank wrote a polite letter that the entry has been reversed w.e.f 1 st of 
April when the actual reversal was on 14th April. 
 
Imagine a situation if the consumer is out of the city and has no other option for cash, what would 
have been his situation. The CEO is not bothered. He is sitting in his air conditioned office and good
at issuing instructions, gossiping with sweet secretaries, sipping coffee, laughing, joking and 
constructing plans how to make more money. 
 
If he is serious then he should have sacked the officers concerned , asked for the explanations and 
penalized by deducting their salaries and finally compensated the consumer to regain his confidence. 
He never decided that but under the influence of his subordinates, peers and lower staff decided 
to write a letter that the reversal has been done with retrospective date.
 
We ask him a question that if the customer says that he has got late in depositing some payment of 
interest and the same may please be treated as deposit received with retrospective effect will the bank 
management accept it? In a situation like this they should do so.
 
Case No. 2
 
Without any written consent or even verbal consent from the credit card holder the bank has debited the protection shield charges to his credit card account. This is sheer dacoity. This is how the banks are trying to make money. Shame to the management. This is the tactic they are using in unison with the insurance companies which are providing these shields to the consumer. They have tied up with private insurance companies. The charges are debited. Those who study their statement they only come to know the actual realities and then their reversals will be made. In other cases who do not check, it is the income of the bank and the insurance company.
 
The market situation is very bad. New ways and means are being adopted to leach out money form the consumer without his knowledge. Unfair means are being adopted as they know that consumer has no stamina to fight. If he decides to fight then they know that they can drag the matters for years together. By that time the consumer is fully tiered and he drops perusing the case further.
